Map Your Neighborhood Introduction

The goal of Map Your Neighborhood is to prepare neighborhoods to be self-reliant during the first hours of an emergency.

Using the MYN program you will:
Learn nine steps to take immediately in a disaster.
Pick location(s) for neighbors to gather.
Formulate an emergency response plan for your neighborhood.
Learn about resources in your community. 
Get to know your neighbors – identify:

  • Special needs
  • Skills
  • Equipment
  • Utilities shutoffs

Map Your Neighborhood in Highland Hills

Highland Hills has been divided into 11 emergency response neighborhoods for the Map Your Neighborhood program. The neighborhood divisions are shown in the image below. A higher resolution image can be downloaded below.

As of 5/18/19, neighborhoods 1, 3, 6, and 7 are fully organized and have established the following gathering areas, FRS channels and captains:
MYN 1 – 612 Fox Hollow Rd – check with MYN 1 captain – Don Baron
MYN 3 – 142 Owls Nest Rd – channel 13 privacy 13 – John Corrigan
MYN 6 – Corner of Doe Run & Quails Roost – Check with MYN 6 captain – Brian Hogan
MYN 7 – 222 Quails Roost Rd – channel 17 privacy 17 or 00 – Fritz Langenbacher

Neighborhoods 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, and 11 are establishing their programs with the help of CERT Bell Hill’s MYN co-ordinators, Wayne Pedersen and Sheri Tibbles. Here are the gathering areas, FRS channels and captains established so far:
MYN 2 – 233 Fox Hollow – channel 12 privacy 12 – Gregg WIlliamson
MYN 4 – not established – channel 14 privacy 14 – John Duffy
MYN 5 – Open lot across from 122 Fawn Lane – channel 15 privacy 15 – Bob and Sharon Litwin
MYN 8 – not established – channel 18 privacy 18 – Wilde Legard
MYN 9 – PUD lot? – channel 19 privacy 19 – Russ Stepp
MYN 11 – not established – channel 21 privacy 21 – Dan Mannisto

Map Your Neighborhood Introduction for the Bell Hill Community

The town of Nehalem Oregon has an excellent booklet on their MYN program. It  is very similar to our program. The file is large (9 MB) and may take a while to download.
